It was indeed a disappointment to me because the war dog show was called off due to the rain...What a waste...But the good thing is at least I did get a chance to talk to the soldier (also the dog trainer) and he provided me some pretty valuable information about how the army is training dogs. Basically they do not really have a system or guideline for how the dog training should be carried out. Rather, when they are assigned to train a dog, they would design particular training lessons for the dog as every dog needs to have different skills. Generally, they use Rottweiler dogs as sentry because the dog is big and fierce enough to scare people off...As for detection job, the army uses SPRINGER. According to the guy, the dog could actually detect bombs, guns, and even drugs (Amazing!!)
Well, what else could I say? DOGS are indeed man's best friend. Personally, I love dog because they would just look you in the eyes and listen to whatever things you have to say about. I have shared many problems with my dogs and sometimes I even think the bond between me and my dog is so strong that I actually take him as part of my family...
